About Peter and the Wolf
Sergei Prokofiev's classical music masterpiece was written to introduce children to the instruments of the orchestra. Each character in the story represents a particular musical instrument.
Peter is played by the strings, the bird by the flute, the oboe plays the duck, and the clarinet plays the cat. The bassoon plays the grandfather, the French horn plays the wolf, and the kettle, drums, and cymbals play the hunters with their armaments.
